Last week, I was found a site about various file extensions. I accidentally found an explanation about the file extension DAA. For first time, it’s looking weird to me. From a web likes ifileextensiondaa.com, I got an explanation. Such as RAR extension, that can only be opened with WinRAR, the daa extension are proprietary file format for disk image. DAA meant to Direct Access Archive.
well, even its a proprierty file format for an CD/DVD image file (ISO image), the daa itself supports for some advanced features, such as compression, password protection, and splitting to multiple volumes. But, just likes I said before about the RAR extension, file extension DAA can be handled currently only usable by PowerISO. Because DAA files are produced by the PowerISO software.
never worry about it, DAA extension just for optional choice. some reason about it check this out.Advantages of DAA file format are : Can be mounted directly like an ISO or BIN file, Allows for compression saving space and making it easier to download, Can be password protected, Can be split into multiple smaller files. and as disadvantages of DAA file format are : Can only be mounted with PowerISO (Windows only, Linux and OSX only has a converter utilty), As a proprietary format, it cannot be read by any free application (e.g. AcetoneISO uses PowerISO binary-only application to achieve conversion of DAA).
